
Emerging Artist Fellowship 2023

Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be an emerging lens-based artist (photography, video art, intermedia)
- Applicants must live or work in Atlanta-metro area
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Proposed projects cannot be for fulfillment of academic-based requirements, such as a graduate thesis
- Applicants cannot be enrolled in an undergraduate program at the time of application or over the time of the fellowship
- Emerging is defined as artists currently engaging in exhibitions and studio practice but have not yet reached established career milestones, such as gallery representation, a monograph publication, or museum exhibitions


Submissions Requirements
- Applications are collected through Google Forms:
- Biographical statement including past art experience (250-word max)
- Brief proposal of your exhibition (350-word max)
- Portfolio of 10 work samples
- JPG, 2000px on the longest side, sRBG color space
- Use the naming convention Lastname_Firstname_Scholarship_Sequence#
- (Ex: Ibarra Rizo_José_Scholarship_001)*
*This step is critical to keep entries organized. Applications with photographs that do not follow the naming convention will not be considered.
Fellow receives:
- Four-week solo exhibition at MINT with an opening reception on September 30, 2023
- Professional development and mentorship opportunities
- A scholarship to next year’s ACP Portfolio Reviews (2024)
- Exhibition layout and installation guidance/assistance from MINT staff and interns
- Social media promotion by both MINT and ACP
- Opportunity to have an artist talk
- $1,000 Grant Award

- Nichole Harris, Executive Director, MINT
- Stephanie Dowda DeMer, Executive Director, Atlanta Celebrates Photography
The jury will also select between 6-8 artists for the group exhibition On The Verge: Selections from the Emerging Artist Fellowship. These artists will also be exhibited 9/30 at MINT and receive a $150 W.A.G.E stipend.
