Yaa Kwayana is a 21-year-old, interdisciplinary artist whose work combines observations on spirituality, womanist theology, and fine art. Her work challenges and explores ideologies in the black community around confidence, authenticity, mental health, and healing.

Through photography, performance art, and academia she investigates the wisdom and challenges she’s learned as well as the healing tools she’s ensued through her ancestors and experiences. In a digestible and majestic way, her work hopes to strike a conversation.

“I’m determined to spread the non-fiction story of healing and love in this seemingly very dark world,” says Yaa.
